Returns & Refund Policy
General
You have 7 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must meet the following conditions:
- Unused and in the same condition that you received it.
- In its original packaging.
- Accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.
Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received the return. We will then inform you of your refund status:
- If approved, we will initiate a refund to your original payment method.
- Refunds are processed based on your card issuer's policies, and you may receive it within a few days.
Please Note:
- No returns or exchanges will be accepted on sale or outlet items for reasons of change of mind, incorrect selection, or sizing.
- Customised or personalised items are not eligible for return or exchange, unless the item is defective or does not comply with the agreed specifications.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring that the correct items, sizes, and quantities are selected prior to completing their purchase.
- Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights afforded to consumers under applicable law, including the right to return defective or unsafe goods within six (6) months of purchase.
How to Return or Exchange an Item
- Email us at orders@piratesshop.co.za.
- Use your order number in the email subject line.
- State your reason for returning or exchanging the item.
- Attach your original invoice or purchase order.
- Provide the collection address for the courier to pick up the item.
Our courier will collect the item from you, and you will be charged for any delivery costs for the exchange.
Personalised Items - No Returns or Refunds
All products that are customised, personalised, or made to order at the Customer's request (including, but not limited to, personalised jerseys with names, numbers, or other custom elements) are strictly non-returnable, non-refundable, and non-exchangeable. By proceeding with the purchase of a personalised item, the Customer expressly acknowledges and agrees that:
- The item has been customised specifically to their instructions and cannot be resold or returned;
- No returns, refunds, or exchanges will be accepted under any circumstances, including but not limited to incorrect sizing, spelling errors, or change of mind;
- The Customer is solely responsible for:
- Selecting the correct size, with reference to the size guide provided;
- Ensuring that all personalisation details (including spelling, numbers, and formatting) are accurate prior to completing the order.
The Company shall not be liable for any errors submitted by the Customer at the time of purchase.
This clause is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights that may not be lawfully excluded under applicable consumer protection legislation.
Defective Goods
If, within 6 (six) months of the date of purchase, an item exhibits defects or malfunctions under normal and intended use, we may, at our discretion, offer to repair, replace, or refund the item, subject to an assessment. This assessment will determine whether the defect arises from a manufacturing fault, rather than from any misuse, neglect, or failure to follow correct care and usage instructions. Should the assessment determine that the item was used in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose, or that care instructions were not adhered to, we reserve the right to deny any repair, replacement, or refund.
If the item is confirmed to be defective due to a manufacturing fault, we will bear the delivery cost for the replacement or repaired item. However, if the item is found not to qualify for a defect claim, any return delivery charges will be the customer's responsibility.
Order Cancellation
In the event that a product is inadvertently listed at an incorrect price, including but not limited to a price of R0.00, we hereby reserve the right to cancel any and all orders placed in respect of such erroneously priced products, notwithstanding the fact that the order may have been confirmed and payment processed. Upon cancellation, the customer will be afforded the opportunity to re-purchase the product at the correct price. Alternatively, a refund of any amounts paid by the customer for the relevant order will be processed.
